Gerald Edward Tobin

Mr. Gerald E. Tobin, age 91, of Macclenny, Florida passed away Friday, September 30 in the Orange Park Care Center, Orange Park, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Tobin was born in New Richmond, Wisconsin and lived there a majority of his life. He was a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Commission while living in Wisconsin. Mr. Tobin lived in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Baker County, Florida in 2002. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glen St. Mary, Florida and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Mr. Tobin is preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Torgeson Tobin, one brother, James Tobin and one sister in law, Donna Tobin. He is survived by his wife, Lois Wittenberg Tobin: two sons, Mark (Lenore) Cortez of St. Paul, Minnesota and Phillip (Kandi) Tobin of Henderson, Nevada: two daughters, Barbara Pramann of Macclenny, Florida and Elizabeth (Louie) Richards of Newport, Minnesota: one brother, Wade Tobin of St. Paul, Minnesota: eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Tobin will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, October 11 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glen St. Mary, Florida, with Father Bielasiewicz, officiating.
