Gerald Witt

Mr. Gerald  Witt, age 86, of Lake City, Florida went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 10, 2015.  He had been at Haven Hospice Care Center for a short period of time. He had lived at Still Waters Assistant Living  Facility in Lake City, Florida for the past 8 months, where  the staff gave him exceptional care. They referred to him as a perfect gentleman and spoke high respect for the wonderful person he was. My father was the man that showed gratitude  and passion for his friends and family.  He had a caring and loving heart for everyone and was a Christian man with strong faith.  He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  He also was a member of the Masonic Corinth Lodge of Wellborn, Fla.  and served nine years with the Florida National Guard.  He worked as a supervisor with the Florida Department of Transportation for 38 years.  He was married to the  love of his life for 50 years and 3 days, Tercie Dicks Witt before she went to be with Jesus on October 14, 2002.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  Purvis and Jessie Wood Witt, his brothers, D.C., Monroe, Hillard and Jack Witt and his sister, Kathaleen Witt Richardson.  He is survived by his children, Geraldine (Farrell) Feagle,  Ronnie (Vicki) Witt,  Becky Witt (Tony) Williams, Joann Witt Houde (Charlie Parnell) and Betty Witt (Jason) Hardee:  Grandchildren, Melissa Feagle (Craig) Heimbuch,  Wiley Feagle, Brandon (Kelli) Witt, Jennifer Witt (Jason) Laubenheimer, Cindy Jordan (Justin) Dansby,  Jonathan (Jennifer) Jordan,  Rebekah Bestoso, Christina Bestoso,  Joshua  (Dara) Bestoso, Shannon Cottey (Thomas) Richards and Kandace Cottey:  Great-grandchildren,  Crystal, Colby and Coby Heimbuch,  Waylon and Walker Witt, Trevor and Aubrey Laubenheimer,  AnnaBelle  Dansby,  Hunter and Luke Jordan,  Katelinn and Mason Bestoso and Bentley and Maddox Richards.  A remembrance  service to honor the life of Mr. Witt will be held at 2 P.M.  Wednesday, May  13,  in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Brandon Witt officiating.  Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation and gathering with the family will be from  5 to 8 P.M.  Tuesday, May 12, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME,  2659 S.W.
