Mr. Gilbert “Gil” Leon Ravan, Jr., age 51, of Macclenny, Florida died Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and had resided in Macclenny, Florida for the past 25 years. He worked as a garage door installer in the construction industry most of his life. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, bowling, baseball and his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Andrea Ravan of Macclenny, Florida: One son, Gilbert Ravan, III of Macclenny, Florida: His mother, Louise (Roy) Reeves of Macclenny, Florida: His father, Gil Ravan, Sr. (Vicky Boelke) of Kalispell, Montana: Four sisters, Lori (Jeff) Thomas of St. George, Georgia, Julie (Tom) Apromollo of Macclenny, Florida, Jackie Carter and Tia (Mark) Kalina both of Jacksonville, Florida: One grandchild, Gavin Ravan: Sister-in-law, Donna Nelson: 7 nephews, 2 nieces and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many loyal friends also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Ravan will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Griffis, Pastor of Cuyler Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
