Mrs. Hazel Velma Delgado, age 88, of Lake City, Florida died Wednesday, Oct. 12, at her residence following a long illness. She was born in Lake Butler, Florida and for many years traveled with her husband due to his military service, and then moved to Lake City, Florida 43 years ago. She was a graduate of Union County High School and a homemaker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. Lake Butler Ward. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her home and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert Delgado, two sons, Peter A. Delgado and Daniel T. “Danny” Delgado and her parents, John Wiley and Leona Hammonds Keene. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Spencer) Cleaveland of Cocoa, Florida: Two sons, Paul (Gayle) Delgado and Greg (Fran) Delgado both of Lake City, Florida: Daughter-in-law, Caroline Delgado of Jacksonville, Florida: 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Delgado will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. Lake Butler Ward with Stake President Joshua Smith presiding and Bishop Paul Waters conducting the service. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Union County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, Oct. 14, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
