Joe Frank Sharman, Sr.

Mr. Joe Frank Sharman, Sr., age 85, of Macclenny, Florida died Thursday, June 1, at his residence following a long illness. Mr. Sharman was born in Boston, Georgia and had resided in Macclenny, Florida for over 70 years. He worked as a wood scaler in the timber industry for over 26 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Macclenny, Florida and Trail Ridge Hunting Club where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sharman of Macclenny, Florida: His daughter, Robin (Ricky) Moran of Macclenny, Florida: His son, Joe Frank Sharman, Jr. (Misty) of Bessemer, Alabama: Three step-daughters, Pamela Renee Thorpe (Jim) of Jacksonville, Florida, Jana Lee Giddens (Jamie) of Folkston, Georgia and Barbara Nicole Thompson of St. George, Georgia: Eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Sharman will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 3, in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Williams, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. Jamie Giddens and Mr. John Sharman. Interment will be in Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
