Joyce Frances Jones Odom

Joyce Frances Jones Odom, a native of MacClenny, Florida was born on August 2, 1933 to Frank and Evelyn Dopson Jones. She graduated from Baker County High School where she enjoyed playing on the basketball team and cheerleading. She then continued her education at Saint Luke’s earning her degree in nursing. Mrs. Joyce married the love of her life, Rayford F. Odom in November 1952. She worked in both public health and for Dr. John Watson. She dedicated her life to her husband, three children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Ray, her mother and father, her grandson Duncan Sumner Odom and her sisters Marjorie Jones Wells and Genice Jones. She is survived by her three children; Sumner Odom, Allison Odom Williford, and Alicia Odom Hinte; her six grandchildren, Lindsey (Joseph) Vennard, Benjamin (Kayla) Odom, Sydney Williford, Caleb Williford, Chase Hinte and Courtney Hinte; and three great grandchildren Corbin Vennard, Cole Vennard, and Hailey Brooks; and her sister  Betty Jones Dickinson. Mrs. Joyce was a beloved member of the First United Methodist Church of MacClenny, and avid bowler and she loved her Florida Gators.

Funeral services for Mrs. Odom will be conducted on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of MacClenny with Rev. Don Thompson officiating. The Family will hold a private interment following the service in MacClenny. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
