Larry Willard Krull

 Larry W. Krull, born in New Paris, Indiana on May 27, 1937 to Francis and Fern Krull.  Larry was raised on Krull & Son’s Dairy Farm.  Larry joined the US Navy in 1955. He served as a Boastwains Aviation Mate on board VP 5 throughout his Naval career during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1995 from CVN 65 Enterprise as a Navy Chief. He went to work for International Longshoremen Union in Jacksonville, FLas a Transport Refrigeration Mechanic, until a work related injury. He relocated to Fort White, FL created a homestead raising cattle and horses as well as other farm animals.  He opened Larry’s Bait and Tackle Shop in 1999. He built custom fishing rods and repaired reels.  He taught several hunting safety courses under the direction of the Florida Fresh Water Fish Commission.  He was a Certified Instructor with the NRA as well as a Gunsmith.   He was one of the founders of The Fort White Gun Club.  After selling the bait and tackle shop he returned to work at the Longshoremen Union, until a heart attack in 2004.  He became a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 57 in Lake City, FL where he faithfully served veterans as Commander for three consecutive years.  He also served as Commander for the 3rd District; Dept. of Florida in 2011.He was a lifetime member and served as Assistant Director for the American Legion Riders Chapter 57. In addition, he was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Post 91 in Jacksonville; FL. Larry was an accomplished woodworker with ongoing projects from writing pens to cabinets.  Larry was well known for his smoked pulled pork and chicken.  In addition Larry was a bookkeeper.  Larry will be remembered for his commitment to duty, honor, leadership, integrity and patriotism and his great sense of humor.  He leaves his wife of thirty years, Joanne. His daughter Janelle Sozanski (Jeremiah) granddaughters Allison and Haley Buker all of Fort White, FL,  Also his son, LT Larry Gean Krull, US Navy, Retired and (Karen) of Jacksonville, FL.  His grandchildren Ken Krull, US Navy active duty and (Heather), great grandchildren Logan an Corrine Krull of Jacksonville, FL. His granddaughter Kristina and LT Ryan White, US Navy active duty.  A beloved brother Gene F. Krull of Largo, FL and three sisters, Sue Shepard, Judy (Roy) Boyd of TN and Joann (Mark) Urfer of CO and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home.  Interment will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:30 pm in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with full military honors.
