Margylee Darnell

Mrs. Margylee “Margie” Darnell, age 77, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Saturday, Oct. 8, in the St. Vincent’s Riverside Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Lake City, Florida and resided in Macclenny, Jacksonville, and Palatka, Florida before moving back to Glen St. Mary, Florida three years ago. She was the former owner of Margie’s Restaurant in Macclenny and worked in jewelry sales for Wal-Mart, Palatka, Florida for years. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, Florida She was preceded in death by her parents, William LeRoy and Nettie Lee Dowling Rodgers, her sister, Iris Louise Grimmett, two brothers, George Burris Rodgers and Carlos “Buck” Rodgers. She is survived by two daughters, Leeane (Jesse Watkins) Townsend of Sanderson, Florida and Brenda (Steve) Rhynehardt of Glen St. Mary, Florida: one brother, James G. “Jimmy” (Sherron) Rodgers of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces, 2 nephews and many other relatives that will miss her. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Darnell will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Christian Fellowship Temple with Rev. David Thomas and Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
