Norma Jeanne Herring

Ms. Norma Jeanne Herring, age 93, of Baldwin, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 19, at her residence. Ms. Herring was born in Kentucky and lived in several other states before moving to Florida in 1967. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Baldwin, Florida and enjoyed playing the piano. Ms. Herring also loved to play golf with her late husband, and enjoyed arts, crafts and puzzle books. She is preceded in death by her husband, L.L. “Red” Herring, her mother, Rose Calitri Merritt, and one brother, Harry Merritt. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (David) Chace of Macclenny, Florida and Cathy (Maurice) Samples of St. Augustine, Florida: One son, John Gregory Herring of Tennessee: One sister, June Wilkinson of South Florida: Seven grandchildren: Seth Samples, Adam Hall, Joseph Samples, Bradley Hall, Leslee Hollis, Haylee Browne, and Cody Hall. Thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive. A celebration of life service to honor Ms. Herring will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at 5:30 P.M., in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
