Patricia Ballenger

Mrs. Patricia Elaine Ballenger, age 65, of Macclenny, Florida died Saturday, April 9, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. Mrs. Ballenger had resided in Macclenny, Florida all of her life. She was a homemaker, a member of the Christian Fellowship Temple of Macclenny, Florida and a former member of the Macclenny Women’s Club and a former Miss Baker County. She enjoyed growing flowers and traveling with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herod Dopson and Mural Rhoden Dopson and her sister, Gloria Voncille Melton. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Michael “Mike” Ballenger of Macclenny, Florida: Her son, James Gazes of Macclenny, Florida: One step-daughter, Michelle (John) Bates of Minden, La.: Two sisters, Ina Faye (Eugene) Long of Nashville, Georgia and Mary Lee (Alfred) Patton of Morganton, N.C.: Two brothers, Gerald (Brenda) Dopson and Gary (Veda) Dopson both of Macclenny, Florida: Two step-grandchildren, Josh Bates and Brandon Bates: Her beloved mother-in-law, Anita Gerson of Macclenny, Florida and many friends. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Ballenger will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, April 12, in the Christian Fellowship Temple with Rev. David Thomas and Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Tuesday at her church until funeral time.
