Inez Betty Sauls

Mrs. Inez Betty Sauls, age 88, of Lake City, Florida went to her heavenly home on Feb. 15, 2024. She was born on Feb. 24, 1935 in Baker County, Florida, but made Lake City her home for over 60 years. She worked for G.E. & Gates in Alachua, Florida for many years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Hopeful Baptist Church and loved gardening, flowers and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Edward Sauls, her parents, Guy and Deloris Futch, her daughter, Joanne Hicks and infant daughter, Reba Sauls, a brother, Marvin Futch and a sister, Louise Cassel. She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Macie) Sauls and Billy (Karen) Sauls; her son-in-law, Everett Hicks; two sisters, Barbara Cassel and Lita Johnson; her brother, Lamar  Futch; grandchildren, Trey Hicks, William (Tracy) Sauls, Phillip (Amanda) Sauls and Ryan (Lydia) Sauls; great-grandchildren, Miranda(Colton) Sheppard and Brandon Hicks; great-great-grandchildren, Cohen Sheppard and Asher Sheppard and several nieces and nephews that were close to her heart. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Sauls will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rodriguez, Pastor of the Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P. M. (one hour before services). Interment will be in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florda is in charge of arrangements.
