Mr. Arlie Windol Combs, Sr., age 79, of Macclenny, Florida died Sunday, Dec. 2, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Combs was born in the Taylor community of Baker County and resided in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Macclenny, Florida in 1994. He worked as a computer analysts with Prudential Insurance Company for over 40 years until his retirement in 1988. He also played lead guitar for numerous bands in the North Florida and South Georgia area for many years. He was a member of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Anne Combs, his son, Arlie W. Combs, Jr. and his father, Ralph Combs. He is survived by his son, Darren Frank (Deborah) Combs of Jacksonville, Florida: His mother, Evelyn Combs of Macclenny, Florida: his step-daughter, Debra Ann Hinson-McCall of St. Augustine, Florida: five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Combs will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Elder David Crawford, Pastor of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. A same day graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. Visitation and gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 to 1 P.M. Friday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
