Mrs. Barbara Ann Wilks, age 70, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, Oct. 14, at her home following a long illness. Mrs. Wilks had lived in Lake City all of her life. She worked with the Lake City Medical Center as a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years until her retirement in 2007. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening, flowers and pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Thetis Janice Brown Lee and a son, Joseph Clayton Wilks. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James E. Wilks of Lake City, Fla.: Two daughters, Andrea (Adam) Wilks Paulk and Donna (Joe) Wilks Sheldon both of Lake City, Florida: Two sons, Michael (Jessica) Wilks and Jonathan Wilks both of Lake City, Fla.: One sister, Mary Susan Mobley of McAlpin, Florida: Seven brothers, David Lee, Richard Lee, Larry Lee, Harry Paul Lee, Clark Lee, John Lee and Robin Lee all of Lake City, Florida:12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Lee will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, Oct. 19, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Sexton, Pastor of the Pine Mount Baptist Church, McAlpin, Florida, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida.
