Mrs. Bertha Mae Crawford, age 79, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Wednesday, April 3, in the St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida following a brief illness. Mrs. Crawford was born in Starke, Florida and had resided in Glen St. Mary, Florida for 52 years. She was a homemaker and worked as Granny Bees Flowers at her home. She was a member of the Pine Level Church of Baker County and was preceded in death by her husband, Auzzie Crawford and her parents, Earlie and Levetta Griffis Thornton, brother, J.L. Thornton and sister, Evie Wombles. She is survived by three sons, Alvin (Diane) Crawford of Sanderson, Florida, Eugene (Kim) Crawford and John (D.D.) Crawford both of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Four sisters, Linda Colvin of Jacksonville, Florida, Elease Wyers of St. Augustine, Florida, Laura Helton of Macclenny, Florida and Faye Wallace of Orange Park, Florida: one brother, Joe Allen Thornton of Keystone Heights, Florida: Ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Crawford will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 6, in the Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, Florida with Rev. Fred Raulerson, Pastor of Pine Level Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. David and Rev. Tim Thomas. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, Florida.
