Carlton Lewis Harris

Mr. Carlton Lewis Harris, 82, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 after an extended illness. He was born in Lake City on March 17, 1934 to the late Staten Harris and Leo Sistrunk Harris. He lived most of his adult life in the south Florida area and worked as a mine dredger. He recently moved back to Lake City four years ago. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph and Luther Harris.

He is survived by his wife of twenty five years: Inez Harris of Plant City; brother: James (Linda) Harris of Lake City; sisters: Shirley (Edsel) Tyre of Lake City, Hazel Lester of Lake City and Julia (George) Brown of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law: Louise Harris and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Harris will be conducted on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the Corinth Cemetery (Hwy 441 North) with his brother James Harris officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1-2 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the graveside. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, 32025.
