Ms. Charlean Brinson, age 89, of Macclenny, Florida passed away peacefully in the arms of her loved ones on May 11, 2018 at Wells Nursing Home in Macclenny, Florida. She was born in Moniac, Georgia on June 5, 1928 to Lemmie Reynolds and Donnie Dinkins Reynolds. Her family later moved to Macclenny where she graduated high school and married Bobby Johns. After his death and the death of her son, Gary, she moved to Jacksonville and was married to Fred Brinson for 31 wonderful years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Ms. Brinson worked in banking for Florida Dealers and Growers, which would eventually become First Union Bank, until her retirement in 1982. In her spare time, she enjoyed to travel and see the world, loved painting, square dancing, and playing cards. She had a passion for fashion and beauty and was always dressed for the occasion, but more than anything, she loved her family and would do absolutely anything for them.
Ms. Brinson is also preceded by both parents, Lemmie Reynolds and Donnie Dinkins Reynolds, by her son, Gary Johns and by her siblings, L.D., Geneva, Minnie and Averie.
Ms. Brinson is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Jimmy) Balkcom of Macclenny, Florida; sister, Applean (Millard) Brown of Green Cove Springs, Florida; and her granddaughter, April Hayden of New York, New York.
A service to honor the life of Ms. Brinson will be held on Thursday May 17, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny, Florida. Reverend J.C. Lauramore will be officiating the services. Everyone is invited back to the home of Sandra and Jimmy Balkcom for a reception following the service.
