Mrs. Clotene “Pete” Alford, age 83, of Sanderson, Florida died Saturday, July 6, at her residence following a long illness. She was born in Brevard, North Carolina and had live in Sanderson, Florida for 29 years. Mrs. Alford held several jobs during the years, but her most favorite was working as an LPN nurse with the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, Florida for over four years. She was a member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church, Sanderson, Florida. She loved helping babies and older people, sewing and being with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Barb Wicker Price, her son, Mark Tatum, two sisters, Swannie Gregg and Gertrude Case and her brother, Sam Price. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Alford of Sanderson, Florida; her daughter, Bebe (Joey) Thrift of Macclenny, Fla.; Four sons, Ricky (Terry) Stevens of High Point, N.C., Robert (Rhonda) Tatum and David Boyette both of Sanderson, Florida and Jessie (Debra) Tatum of Baldwin, Florida; Two step-sons, Timothy (Maria) Alford of Sanderson, Fla. And Zary (Jeannie) Alford of Glen St. Mary, Fla. one sister, Pat Frankem; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Alford will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, July 11, in the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alford, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. Joe Ruise. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida. A visitation and gathering with the family will be from 12 to 1 P.M.
