Edgel Joseph Tyre

Mr. Edgel Joseph Tyre, age 83, of Lake City, Florida died Tuesday, August 22, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Tyre was born near Lake Butler, Florida and lived in Lake City, Florida all of his life. He worked as a security guard with the Florida Department of Corrections for over 36 years until his retirement. Mr. Tyre spent most of his years working with U.C.I. in Raiford, Florida and was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Hardy and Sally Shaw Tyre. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Tyre of Lake City, Florida: his daughter, Flo Ann Burton of Lake City, Florida: his sister, Frances Brewer of Jacksonville, Florida. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Tyre will be held at 12 P.M. Saturday, August 26, in the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. (one hour before services) at the church.
