Mrs. Edith Davis Young, age 92 of Anthony, Florida went to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 4th at Legacy House Hospice, Ocala, FL. Mrs. Young was born in Sanderson, FL to the late Gilford and Rosetta Williams Davis and was the wife of the late John Young. Mrs. Young was a very generous and loving woman who loved her family and enjoyed traveling. She loved to fish and was a member of the Bass and Gals. Mrs. Young was a member of the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, Lake City, FL. She is preceded in death by her children, Richard Monds, Monroe Gray and Martha “Marty” Gray, brothers, Harmon, Lewis, Robert, Ralph and J.J. Davis, and sisters, Louise Dinkins and Pencie Nipper. Mrs. Young is survived by her sons, Timothy (Gwyn) Gray of Sanderson, FL and Joseph (Bambie) Gray of Lake Butler, FL: sisters, Annie Ruth Combs of Jacksonville, FL and Ila (Carl) Taylor of Lake City, FL: brother, Lester (Patricia) Davis of Glen St. Mary, FL: sister in law, Jean Stafford Davis of Macclenny, FL: grandchildren, Cindy Crawford of Ocala, FL, Tony Hanks of Jacksonville, FL Christopher Johns of TN and Sean Johns of Jacksonville, FL. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Young will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, May 8 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, and Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, May 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Oak Grove Cemetery.
