Mrs. Elizabeth Cleo Osteen, age 77, of Mayo, Florida died Friday, Feb. 8, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and lived in Macclenny, Florida for many years before moving to Mayo, Florida 30 years ago. While living in Macclenny she worked as a medical assistant in Jacksonville, Florida and most recently was a homemaker. She was a member of the Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Florida and loved gardening, fishing, camping and on the river, cooking and making homemade jellies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Malachi Anderson and Mary Williams Anderson, three brothers, Clyde, Edward and Johnnie Wayne Anderson and three sisters, Esther Anderson, Lavonne Brumfield and Genevieve Lucas. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Samuel H. Osteen, Sr. of Mayo, Florida: Two daughters, Tina (Mike) Griffis and Belinda (Robert) Fletcher both of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Two sons, Chip (Rhonda) Osteen of Macclenny, Florida and John (Champa) Osteen of Perry, Florida: One brother, Michael (Sherrie) Anderson of Macclenny, Florida: Two sisters-in-laws, Ruby Anderson of Macclenny, Florid and Mary Lou Anderson of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Osteen will be held at 2 P. M. Tuesday, Feb. 12, with a visitation from 1 to 2 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Florida with Rev. Robert M. Bradow officiating and assisted by Rev. Justin Griffis. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Road 53 North, Day, Florida. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
