Mr. Henry Seaf Rhoden, age 87, of Baxter, Florida died Monday, June 24, in the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. Mr. Rhoden had resided in the Baxter community of Baker County all of his life and was the son of the late Harley and Novie Burnsed Rhoden. He worked many years in the logging and timber industry and most recently retired from Florida Wire and Cable Company after 16 years of service. He was a member of the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, Georgia and enjoyed bass fishing. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Dave Rhoden. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria J. Chesser of Folkston, Georgia; three sons, Thomas D. (Theresa) Rhoden of Glen St. Mary, Florida, Joe N. Rhoden and Seaf R. (Rita) Rhoden both of Baxter, Florida; one sister, Lucille Prescott of Baxter, Florida; one half-brother, J.N. Canaday of Baxter, Florida; four half sisters, Jackie, Retha Mae, Donnell and Shirley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Rhoden will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, June 28, in the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, Georgia. Interment will be in North Prong Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday (One hour before services) at the church.
