Mrs. Ida Mae Domke, age 74, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, Oct. 8, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Prudence, Tennessee and raised in Dayton, Ohio and later moved to Naples, Florida where she became the first female contractor and owned and operated Tropical Painting of South West Florida, Inc. She retired to Lake City, Florida where she had resided for the past nine years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Angelena Suttles. She is survived by her husband, William F. “Bill” Domke of Lake City, Florida: Four daughters, Diana Peebles and Lillian A. Vigneault both of Lake City, Florida, Lillian Huffman and Rene’ Fernandez both of Naples, Florida: Three sons, Walter T. Huffman, Jerry Huffman and Dan Huffman all of Naples, Florida: Two step-daughters, Melissa Benfield and Heidi Brown: Four sisters, Lois Sirmons Charron of Harrison, MI, Rose Cassady Ray of Dearborn, MI, Lana Suttles Phillips of Maryville, Tennessee and Ellen Yvonne Rentz of Macomb Township, MI: One brother, Nevil Norman of Knoxville, Tennessee: 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside service will be held at 11:20 A.M. Friday, Oct. 13, in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 8 P.M.
