Mr. James Edmond Rosier, age 88, of Lawtey, Florida died Wednesday, July 25, in Lawtey, Florida. He was born in Lawtey, Florida and lived in Macclenny, Florida for over twenty years before moving back to Lawtey, Florida 50 years ago. He worked as a foreman with Carl Griffis Farms and was formerly employed with Southern States Nursery, Blair Nursery and Gilbert’s Home Moving in Macclenny, Florida. He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, Lawtey, Florida and enjoyed his cows, chickens and being outside working. He was preceded in death by his children, Rhoda Rebecca Waters, Rose Marie Rosier and Irene Rosier, and his parents, John Quincy Adams Rosier and Wealthy Ann Sapp Rosier.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Ann (Clint) Bennett of Lawtey, Florida and Minnie (Daniel) Douglas of Fort White, Florida: Three sons, Dwight (Debbie) Rosier and James (Virginia) Rosier both of Lawtey, Florida and Edmond (Ginger) Rosier of Lulu, Florida: One sister, Sandra Griffis of Lawtey, Florida: 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Rosier will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 28, in the Evergreen Baptist Church, 8025 N.W. County Road 125, Lawtey, Florida with Rev. Kris Elkins, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday (One hour before services) at the church. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
