Joyce Elizabeth Bridges

Ms. Joyce Elizabeth Bridges, age 80, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on July 30, 2018 at the Acosta Rau Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born to Porter and Florida O’Quinn on September 24, 1937. After school, she began working as a clerk for the State of Florida until her retirement after 30 plus years of employment. Ms. Bridges resided in the Macclenny, Baldwin, and Maxville areas for over 60 years. She raised 5 children and in her spare time, loved to travel. Her late husband, Dewey, and she ended up traveling to all 50 states in the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maxville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Bridges; both parents, Porter and Florida O’Quinn; and step-son, Donny Bridges.

Ms. Bridges is survived by her daughters, Martha (Wesley) Davis of Taylor, FL, and Brenda Daniels of Macclenny, FL; three sons, Alvin (Lisa) Lambert of Kissimmee, FL, Bobby (Julie) Lambert of Orlando, FL, and David (Tookie) Lambert of Clay Hill, FL; ten grandchildren, Melinda, Wesley Jr., Lee Ann, Whitney, Larissa, Shelley, Wendy, Bobby, Thomas, and Cherry; 13 great grandchildren and her cousin, Skipp Titus of Mandarin also survive.

A funeral service to honor Ms. Bridges will be on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny. Interment to follow at Brandy Branch Cemetery in Bryceville, Florida. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME of Macclenny are in charge of arrangements. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
