Mr. Michael E. Rowe, age 63, of Sanderson, FL passed away Friday, September 8 in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, FL following an extended illness. Mr. Rowe was born on April 2, 1954 at the Nouasseur Air Force Base in French Morocco, North Africa to the late Donald and Carol Rowe. Mr. Rowe lived in Miami, FL for many years and moved to Baker County, FL in 1982. He worked as a correctional officer for the State of Florida and retired after 20 years of service. Mr. Rowe was a member of the Baker County Historical Society and loved to play Bingo at the Council on Aging Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Rowe and great niece, Gaia. Mr. Rowe is survived by his mother, Carol Rowe of Macclenny, FL: one brother, Don Rowe (Nadine) of Macclenny, FL: four sisters, Patricia Osleber (Raleigh) of Stuart, FL, Beth Willoughby (Ted) of Macclenny, FL, Margaret Moquin of Gainesville, FL, and Valerie Holloway of Macclenny, FL. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Rowe will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, September 21 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL, with Dr. Edsel Bone officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before services). Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL is in charge of arrangements.
