Mrs. Pauline Woods Courson, age 88, of Lulu, Florida died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Courson was born in Jasper, Florida and resided in Polk County, Florida before moving to Lulu, Florida in 1947. She worked as a seamstress with Lake Butler Apparel Company for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Lulu Baptist Church and served as social director for many years. She was a member of the Lake Butler Woman’s Club and the Sassy Sisters Lunch Bunch Group. She loved to sew, grow flowers and plants, raising her cattle and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Weeks Courson. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia C. (A.B.) Carter of Lake Butler, Florida: Two sons, Ralph (Bonnie) Courson of Lake Butler, Florida and Alan (Joan) Courson of Providence, Florida: One sister, Kathleen Jackson of Orangeburg, S.C.: Six grandchildren, Angela Phelps, which is the oldest and was her caregiver, Hal, Daniel, Garrett, Christy and Alison: 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Courson will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, Sept. 28, in the Lulu Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Wake, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Douglas Cemetery, Union County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, Sept. 27, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
