Mrs. Phyllis Diane Jimmerson, age 67, of Inverness, Florida died Saturday, June 22, in the Shands Medical Center University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Jimmerson was born in Gadsen, Alabama and resided in Baxter, Florida for over 30 years before moving to Tampa, Hollywood and then Inverness, Florida. While living in Baker county she worked in the housekeeping dept. at Macclenny Nursing & Rehab Center. She was a former member of the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, Georgia and the Tampa Life Church, Tampa, Florida. She was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and enjoyed shopping, cooking, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the late Richard Avery McCune. She is survived by her husband, John Leroy Jimmerson of Inverness, Florida; her daughter, Amanda (Matthew) Taylor of Glen St. Mary, Florida; two sons, Richard G. (Stacie) McCune and Nathan Kyle McCune both of Macclenny, Florida; five step-children, Sandra, Pamela, Howard, Jonathan and Joshua Jimmerson; one sister, Betty Sue Hicks of Inverness, Florida; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Jimmerson will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, June 29, in the Tampa Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida with Rev. Robert Tisdale officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, June 27, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East Macclenny, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
