Mr. Raymond Lamone Roach, Jr., age 69, of Lake City, Florida passed away on August 25, 2018 at Lake City Medical Center. Mr. Roach was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 31, 1948 to Raymond Roach, Sr. and Joan Gilligan Roach. Raymond was the oldest son of 8 children. He was a truck driver and moved to the Lake City area 22 years ago. He was a cowboy at heart and loved roping and riding. He was affiliated with the Suwannee County Rodeo Association. He also loved sports, especially golf, baseball, softball, and football. Above all, he was a family man and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond L. Roach, Sr. and Joan Gilligan Roach, and his brother Steven T. Roach.
Mr. Roach is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna M. Roach; daughter, Tammy Sue Foster; three brothers, Gary D. Roach, Wayne A. Roach, and Donald L. Roach; three sisters, Linda M. (David) Gatzke, Dianne (Joseph) Bates, and Debra (Lawrence) Smithe; two grandchildren, Amanda Roach and Denis Lacayo, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Jaceon Green and Jordan Lacayo. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service to honor both brothers, Mr. Raymond Lamone Roach and Mr. Steven Thomas Roach will be held on Saturday, September 1, at 12:00 at the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 11:00 am (one hour before services). Services will be conducted by Mr. Thomas Wayne. Guerry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
