Mrs. Rebekah M. Long, age 73, of Macclenny, Florida died Thursday, September 26, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida following a brief illness. Mrs. Long was born in Jacksonville, Florida and had resided in Macclenny, Florida for the past 53 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Raiford Road Church, Macclenny, Florida and loved her Jesus and her family. She also enjoyed cross stitch, singing and playing the piano with gospel music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold E. and Mariam Lumpkin Braden. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, D.E. “Gene” Long of Macclenny, Florida: Two sons, Joe (Michele) Long of Glen St. Mary, Florida and John (Rachael) Long of Lake Butler, Florida: one brother, Arnold Braden of Middleburg, Florida: five grandchildren, Morgan, D.J., Amelia, Gavin and Paisley also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Long will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, Sept. 30, in the Raiford Road Church with Rev. Eddie Griffis officiating and assisted by Rev. Johnnie Raulerson and Rev. Tommy Richardson. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 4 to 7 P.M.
