Ms. Retha Mae Raulerson, age 80, of Moniac, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 1, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Moniac, Georgia on December 28, 1937 to John Crawford and Gussie Reynolds Crawford. She lived in Moniac all her life and was a member at Pine Level Church in Baxter, Florida. She worked as a school bus driver for the Charlton County School System until her retirement. Ms. Retha Mae was known as a hard worker and loved people. She will be dearly missed. She was preceaded in death by her husband, William D. Raulerson; both parents, John and Gussie Crawford; and siblings Thelma Gainey, Ruby O’Quinn, Cedon Crawford, and Gene Crawford.
Ms. Retha Mae is survived by her son, John (Donna) Phillips of Moniac, Georgia; three grandchildren, John Jameon Phillips of St. George, Georgia, Stormy Dethanial (Lisa) Phillips of Palm Coast, Florida, and Hardy Lucian Phillips of St. George, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Mackynzie, Owen, and Alex; and two sisters, Gencie Rewis and Neal Bates both of Moniac, Georgia.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Retha Mae will be held on Sunday, August 5, at 2:00 PM at the Pine Level Church in Baxter, Florida. Reverend Fred Raulerson, pastor of Pine Level Church, and Reverend James Conner, pastor of New Life Baptist Church of St. George, Georgia, will be officiating services. The family will receive friends for a visitation and gathering at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny on Saturday, August 4, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
