Mr. Richard “Ricky” Edward Parker, age 66, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, Dec. 30, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Parker was born and raised in Lake City, Florida and was the son of the late James Mills and Lillian Aileen Matthews Parker. He was a licensed certified public accountant and managing partner of Parker-Owens, PLLC-Certified Public Accountants, Lake City, Florida with over 44 years of experience. Throughout his career, he had served as a director or officer of numerous charitable and civic organizations in the community. He was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church, the Elks Club of Lake City, a 1974 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an avid Florida Gator fan. He is survived by his wife, Bennie B. Parker of Lake City, Florida: One daughter, Rachel Parker of Lake City, Florida: Two sons, James B. Parker of Savannah, Georgia and George A. (Emma Flint) of Jacksonville, Florida: One sister, Gayle (Wiley) Hunter of Lake City, Florida: A niece, Kelly (Corey) Sistrunk of Lake City, Florida. A funeral mass to honor the life of Mr. Parker will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Robert Trujillo officiating the service. Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 2, with a rosary to be recited at 4:30 P.M. at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
