Robert Floyd Collins

Mr. Robert Floyd Collins, age 90, of Lake City, Florida died Saturday, April 29, in the Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness.  He was born in Cuthberth, Georgia and lived in Byron, Georgia before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1965. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and received his B.S. Degree in 1952 and his Master of Education in 1958.  He worked for over 24 years with the Lake City Community College as an instructor in business and marketing. He helped plan, initiate and teach many degree marketing programs with the college until his retirement in 1989. He then worked as a teacher with the public schools of Lumberton, North Carolina and also became a realtor with Results Realty, Lake City, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith and an Army veteran of W.W. II.  He is survived by his two sons, Dan K. Collins of Lake City, Florida and Rob F. (May) Collins, Jr, of Chulavista, Ca:  One sister, Dorothy Turner of Lake City, Florida:  Three grandchildren, Michael, Brett and Caylia also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Collins will be held at 6 P.M. Thursday, May 4, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with visitation and gathering with the family from 5 to 6 P.M. (One hour before services).  Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, May 5, in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Macon, Georgia. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
