Mr. Ronnie Edward Crews, age 72 of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Sunday, November 19 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Crews was born in Baldwin, Florida to the late Everett and Retha Crews. He married the love of his life, Norma in June of 1968 and they were married for 49 years. Mr. Crews was a truck driver and retired from Conway Freight on April 1, 2010 after 20 years of employment. His military career in the United States Army started in 1965 and he was honorably discharged in 1971. He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to go to his property in Baxter, Florida, feeding his cows and taking care of his pine trees. He also enjoyed going camping with his family, and watching his grandchildren play football and baseball. Mr. Crews also liked to watch boxing and NASCAR racing on television. He was well loved by all and will be sorely missed. Mr. Crews is survived by his loving wife, Norma Crews: two sons, Kevin Crews, Sr. and Terry (Tina) Crews of Baxter, Florida : one daughter, Sheila (Scott) Cales of Glen St. Mary, Florida: five grandchildren, Brittany (Timothy) Stiers, Jared Crews, Sarah Crews, Tyler Brown, Ashlyn Gunter: one step grandchild, Cheyenne Cales: brothers, Lacy (Debbie) Crews, Sr. and Dennis Crews. Four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Retha Crews, and one grandson, Kevin Crews, Jr. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Crews will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, November 22 in the First Baptist Church of Macclenny with Rev. Bobby Griffin, Pastor of The Lord’s Church, Taylor, Florida officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, November 21 at the First Baptist Church of Macclenny. Interment will follow funeral services in Moniac Cemetery, Moniac, Georgia. Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL is in charge of arrangements.
