Theodore "Ted" Harold Simmons, II

Mr. Theodore “Ted” Harold Simmons, II, age 60, of Lake City, FL passed away October 11, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lake, City, FL. Mr. Simmons was born on August 27, 1957 in Charleston, WV to Theodore Simmons, Sr. and Lois Rose Belcher Simmons. After graduating high school in West Virginia, Ted bravely served our country in the United States Navy. He was station in Norfolk, VA and served from 1975-1979. While in the service, he was an aviation structural mechanic and part of the Westpac Crew. After the military, Mr. Simmons moved to North Carolina where he pursed a career aviation as an aviation mechanic. That later brought him to Lake City, FL where he worked at Timco. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, cutting his grass, and his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Lois, and two sisters, Becky and Pammy.

Ted is survived by his father, Theodore Simmons, Sr. of West Virginia; his fiancé’, Doris Knee of Lake City, FL ; his daughter, Miranda Douglas of Advance, NC; son, Theodore Simmons III of Advance, NC; his brother, Steven Vance; sister, Beverly Craig; and five grandchildren, Susie Douglas, Ashton Douglas, Camden Douglas, Charlotte Douglas, and Dustin Simmons. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, October 20, 2017 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Lake City, FL. The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service.
