Mrs. Virginia Grace Lamberson, age 76, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, May 21, in the Shands at University of Florida Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1987. She worked many years as a day care provider with a children’s nursery. She was a retired military housewife and finally got to see the Chicago Cubs baseball team win the World Series. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eugene Lamberson, her son, Roy E. Lamberson, Jr. her two daughters, Pamela Lynn and Patricia Lee Lamberson and her parents, William George and Virginia Lucille Wilson Marquardsen. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Marie Blaher of Virginia Beach, Va.: Two sons, Richard E. Lamberson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Robert E. Lamberson of Lake City, Florida. One sister, Lisa Durkin of Thornton, Illinois: Two brothers, William Maarquardsen of Chicago, Illinois and Mark Marquardsen of Springfield, Illinois: Seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. A private burial will be held at a later date. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
