Mr. Wilfred “Willie” Joseph Christie, age 63, of Tallahassee, Florida died Monday, June 11, in the Miracle Hill Nursing and Convalescent Home, Tallahassee, Florida following a long illness. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky and had lived in Lake City, Florida for 45 years before moving to Tallahassee, Florida seven years ago. He was employed as a crew member with McDonald’s Restaurant , Lake City, Florida for ten years and enjoyed volunteer work with the Lake City V.A. Medical Center. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the local public library. He is survived by his niece, Tonya A. (Shaahid) Brown of Tallahassee, Florida: Two nephews, Robert Lavoie of Lake City, Florida and Tarl (Kellyn) Westbrook of Washington State: Numerous great nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Christie will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 16, in the Corinth Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida.
