Mr. Woodrow Dwight Davis, 72, of Alachua, Florida died Thursday, July 12, at his residence following a long illness. Mr. Davis resided in Alachua, Florida all of his life and worked as a farmer and in spraying insecticides and spreading fertilizer products near his home. He was a member of the North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Alachua, Florida and enjoyed riding horse and roping cattle. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Davis and his son, Kelly Dewight Davis. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Davis of Alachua, Florida: One son, Kenneth B. Davis of Alachua, Florida:Two grandkids who were the love of his life Audrey Davis, Hayden "Hoss" Davis : His mother, Iris Marie Holder of Alachua, Florida: Three sisters, Linda K. Dowling of Orange Park, Florida, Rafalee Hawkins of Worthington Springs, Florida and June (Glen) Pressley of Alachua, Florida . A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Davis will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, July 15, in the North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Alachua, Florida. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 2 to 3 P.M.
