Adrena Crews

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Adrena Crews, who passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the age of 89.Born on February 26, 1934, she grew up in a loving home in her hometown of Lake City, Florida.  After marriage she lived for several years in England and later in a number of locations in Southeast Florida before returning to Lake City in 1973.She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband David Carl Crews, and a devoted mother to her children David Carl Crews Jr. and Gregory Alan Crews.Adrena Crews lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes and desserts were always the highlight of family gatherings and as gifts to friends and neighbors. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden, which was always in full bloom. She was an active member of Lakeview Church of Christ.Adrena Crews was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her desire to help anyone in need and warm personality.

Preceded in death by her husband David C. Crews, son David C. Crews Jr., parents Jesse and Lottie Cole, sisters Maude Gillen, Irma Brooker, Marie Williams, Evelyn Sirmans, brothers Buel (Bud) C. Cole, John E. Cole, Edward F. Cole, and Gene I. Cole.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Pamelia Crews, grandson and his wife Thomas and Heather Crews, and great-grandson David Crews, all of Wasilla, AK, son and his wife Greg and Glory Crews of Heflin, AL, brother and his wife Jack and Phyllis Cole of Homestead, FL, sister-in-law Lucy Cole of Valrico, FL, sister-in-law Yvonne Cole of Lake City, FL, sister-in-law Delia Cole of Starke, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday June 30 at 4:00 pm (visitation at 3:30 pm) at Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, FL. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to HAVEN Hospice Foundation in memory of Adrena Crews.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Haven Hospice of Lake City and the staff at Willowbrook Assisted Living.
