Arthur Lee Lauramore

Mr. Arthur Lee Lauramore, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida passed away September 4, 2022 after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. He was affectionately known as “Pa” to his family and loved ones. Arthur was born in Macclenny, Florida on September 16, 1939 to Lee Roy Lauramore and Thelma Estelle Johns Lauramore. He worked mainly in the grocery business as a butcher and took great pride in his work. He worked at Red and White Grocery, Southern States Nursery, NEFSH, Blair and Finley Grocery, Winn Dixie, Waters Grocery in Lawtey, Fla. and Richard’s Meat Market in Macclenny, Florida. He served our country in the Navy aboard the Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1958-1960. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Church until ill health prevented him from attending. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, gardening, attending church and spending time with his family, especially big family gatherings. He married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Ward, on August 11, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ruby Davis and Kathrine Pryde. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen Ward Lauramore of Macclenny, Florida; three daughters, Karen Sue (David) Matthews, Sharon Kay (Frank) Ingram and Mary Beth/Becky (Garry) Goodwin all of Macclenny, Florida; two sisters, Eloise Davis and Kerrell Cox both of Macclenny, Florida; one brother, J.C. (Sandra) Lauramore of Macclenny, Florida; grandchildren, Michael/Pete (Lexi) Matthews, Amanda (Daniel) Blair, Kenneth (Shawna) Griffis and Clint (Misty) Griffis; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild on the way, nine step-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren and five step-great-great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Lauramore will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Mt. Zion Church, Highway 121 North, Macclenny, Florida with Rev. Shane Conner, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Turner Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday (One hour before services) at the church. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
