August Henck Obituary

Mr. August “Benny” Henck, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 23 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Mr. Henck was born in Lacoochee, FL to the late August Lewis and Mattie Peek Henck. He has lived in Bryceville, Fl, for the past 40 years and worked as a saw sharpener for his family business, Henck’s Saw Shop in Jacksonville. Mr. Henck was a faithful member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, coaching baseball and football, and relaxing on his front porch. Mr. Henck was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alford Henck.

 

Mr. Henck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Liz Henck of Bryceville; sons, Walter L. (Marshanna) Henck of Lake City and Rory L. (Dana) Henck of Baldwin; grandchildren, Anthony Henck (Kaylee), Lea (Jeff) Higginbotham and Walt Henck.

 

A service to honor Mr. Henck will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drummond officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will be at Brandy Branch Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Guerry Funeral Home of Macclenny. guerryfuneralhomes.com
