Mr. Bernard William “Bill” Cannady, Sr., age 85, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, April 23, in the Shands University of Florida Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a brief illness. Mr. Cannaday was born in West Virginia and resided in Columbus, Ohio most of his life before moving to Lake City, Florida seven years ago. He worked as a truck driver with Kroger Grocery Company, Columbus, Ohio for 32 years. He attended the Abundant Life Church, Lake City, Florida and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and restoring furniture after his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cannady of Lake City, Florida: Three step-daughters, Sheri (Paul) Scandizzo, Lisa Bridges and Susan (Daniel) Evans all of Lake City, Florida: Two step-sons, Benny Jarrell of Lake City, Florida and Roger (Teresa) Jarrell of Wellborn, Florida: numerous step-grandchildren and his loving animal companion, Poo also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cannady will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 26, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Cagney L. Tanner, Pastor of Abundant Life Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
