Mrs. Carol Lynne Hodges, age 77 of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Sunday, December 30 in the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside, Jacksonville, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Hodges was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Carl and Edith Stack Settle. Mrs. Hodges lived in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Baker County, Florida over 50 years ago. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for over 30 years at the Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Florida before her retirement. Mrs. Hodges was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Macclenny, Florida and loved her church family. She was the leader of the adult Sunday school class, a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Hodges loved spending time with her grandchildren and her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Michael David Hodges. Mrs. Hodges is survived by her husband, R.C. “Bud” Hodges: one daughter, Lori Hodges Bell (Paul) of Glen St. Mary, Florida: one brother, Carl Settle, Jr. (Linda) of Stone Mountain, Georgia: two sisters, Barbara Hamilton (Jim) of Austin, Texas and Joyce Hendry (James) of Fair Play, South Carolina. Four grandchildren, Michael Seth Hodges, Bailee Rife (Corey), Michael Blaine Turner and Cassie Grace Turner, also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Hodges will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, January 3 in the First United Methodist Church, Macclenny, Florida with Rev. Don Thompson, assisted by Rev. Albert Starling, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, January 2 at Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, Florida.
