Carol King, age 75, of Jacksonville FL passed away at her residence following an illness on August 14th, 2023. Mrs. Carol, being born in Ohio, had spent half of her life in Albany, Georgia, and the other half in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a devoted Catholic by faith and attended St. Matthews Catholic Church for a period of time. Mrs. Carol thoroughly enjoyed all animals, shape and size, but was especially fond of horses. In her younger years, she loved to be around horses and even show them. She was known to love traveling around and especially enjoyed Ireland, where her family originated from. Mrs. Carol was an avid true crime fan from TV shows, documentaries, and books. She also, of course, loved her family and will be missed by many.
Mrs. King Is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ann Schramm, two siblings, Lawrence Schramm and Dolores Sweat, and her cat, Leo. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley (Robert) Landry of Woodbine, Georgia; Two brothers, Walter (Connie) Schramm of Jacksonville, Florida, and James (Tammy) Schramm of Callahan, Florida; and Three grandchildren, Brittney (Nick) Fredenburg of California, Bridget (Brandon) Autrey of Pennsylvania and Brinley King of Georgia. Many nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Carol will be held on Monday, August 21st, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home- Macclenny. Visitation and gathering with the family will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Monday (one hour before services). Memorialization will be by cremation.
