Carolyn Rhoden Manning (Nana), age 80, of Macclenny, Florida was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, November 15, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Manning was a lifelong resident of Macclenny, Florida. She attended the Macclenny Church of Christ and was a devoted member where she met many lifelong friends. If you knew Mrs. Manning, you knew she was an avid and talented painter. She also enjoyed traveling, going on many camping trips throughout her life and bringing her grandchildren along for the memories. She was usually accompanied by her dog, Prince, who was her companion and best friend. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, always claiming she was never cheating. Most of all, she was known to enjoy time with her family and especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be missed dearly by many people.
Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, father of her children and love of her life for 27 years, Cleveland Rhoden, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her husband and travel partner, Robert T. Manning Sr. and granddaughter, Logan Danielle Wilson. She is survived by her three children Rosa Wilson of Macclenny, Florida, Pam (Bubba) Harris of Taylor, Florida and Grover (Mandy) Rhoden of Folkston, Georgia; two step children, Kelly (Doyle) Boatwright of Port S. Lucie, Florida and Robert “Terry” (Carrie) Manning, Jr. of Sevierville, Tennessee: brother, Roger (Glenda Faye) Raulerson of Taylor, FL; two sisters, Lynn (Randall) Taylor of Taylor, FL and Annette Manning, of Glen St. Mary, FL; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Kaitlyn) Harrell, Clint (Jessie) Rhoden, Colby (Sam) Rhoden, Sarah (Brett Ducker) Harrell, Cameron (Kylee) Wilson, Kierston Boatwright, Hunter (Torah Heron) Wilson, and Chase Rhoden; and five great-grandchildren, Beau, Sloane, Gentry, Colt, and Cricket.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Manning will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 18th, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL , with Rev. Sam Kitchens officiating. Pallbearers are her 6 grandsons, Nathan Harrell, Clint Rhoden, Colby Rhoden, Cameron Wilson, Hunter Wilson, and Chase Rhoden. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, November 17th at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.Internment following the funeral service will be at Macedonia Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to caregiver and friend Autumn Starr along with services provided by The Council on Aging.
