Carson Collins Obituary

Carson Collins passed away at home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Born in Sneedville Tennessee, Mr. Collins was the eldest of 11 children born to Obie and Sophie Collins on August 17, 1939. Carson is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 34 years, Mary Collins, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Nancy Brittain Collins, and three daughters, Cindy Dempsey (Carl), Lake City, FL, Catherine Ericson, Richmond, Virginia and Sylvia McIntosh (Longley), Enterprise, Alabama, Melissa Henderson (Jerry), Tallahassee, FL, Joshua McCray (Amy), Live Oak, FL, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 4 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Collins served in the US Army, 20 years, serving as an Army recruiter in Lake City,Florida before retiring in 1978. After retirement from the army he was employed at LabSouth in Birmingham, Alabama until retiring in 1999. Cremation arrangements by GUERRY FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Carson’s life will be held at a later date.
