Mr. Charles “PeeWee” Bowen, age 71, of Macclenny, FL passed away Monday, May 24th in the Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, FL after a lengthy illness. PeeWee was born May 2, 1950 in Douglas, GA to the late Charles and Emma Spires Bowen and lived in Jacksonville, FL until 1984 when he and his wife relocated to Baker County, FL. He retired from the City of Jacksonville and worked for Sam Davis Trucking until 2012. PeeWee was an avid lover of surfing, fishing and hunting. He had a big heart and loved his family deeply. PeeWee is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christi and grandson, Will. He is survived by his loving wife, Chyrel: children, Stacey Aby (Scott), Jenni Bowen, Charlie Bowen, Chyrel Marie Sandoval (Sal), Sonnie Gay and Ed Crawford (Cheryl): sisters, Rosemary Townsend, Dawn Sabine Taylor (Mike), Connie Wilson (Robert), and Debra Smith (Don). Seventeen grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 6 P.M., Friday, May 28th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL.
