Mr. Clinton Val Bennett, age 76, of Lawtey, Florida died Monday, Feb. 22, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Bennett was born in Jacksonville, FL and resided in Middleburg, FL and then Olive Hill, TN for 23 years before moving to Lawtey, FL five years ago. He worked as a truck driver for 58 years and retired from C & S Transportation, Adamsville, TN. He served as a deacon with Cross Roads Union Church, Olive Hill, TN and enjoyed playing his guitar, writing and playing gospel songs. He was preceded in death by three children, Tonya M. Bennett, Clinton L. Bennett and Infant Girl Bennett, his parents, Cecil Leon Bennett and Inez Beulah Adams Bennett, his brother, Johnny Bennett and is sister, Bessie Coaster. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia A. Bennett of Lawtey, FL: four daughters, Patricia (Scott) Whatley of Middleburg, FL, Frankie Rizer of Sanderson, FL , Tabatha (Steven) Easley of Savannah, TN and Amanda (Richard) Laffoon of Chesapeake, VA: two sons, Clinton David Bennett of Middleburg, FL and Jason Lee of Lake Butler, FL: one brother, Danny Bennett of Daytona Beach, FL: 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Bennett will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Elkins officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
