Mrs. Corene Delila Brinkley, age 99, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Brinkley was born in Homerville, Georgia and resided in Hollywood, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1989. She owned and operated the Villa Rose Pizza in Hollywood, Florida for over 32 years. She was a member of the Lantern Park Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida. She enjoyed watching T.V. news, going to Biloxi casinos and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lillard Elijah Brinkley, her son, Randy Edward Brinkley and her parents, Edward D. and Eveline Shipes Powers. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Spencer of Lake City, Florida and her special friend, Jimmy Quigley; her son Michael A. (Ada) Brinkley of Farmingdale, New York; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Brinkley will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the Caballero Rivero Dade North Cemetery, Miami, Florida. A private family gathering will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. MainBlvd., Lake City, Florida.
