Mr. David Clifford Galloway, age 88, of Macclenny, Florida went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 after a long glorious life on earth. He was born in Rosman, North Carolina to the late Walter Monroe and Ola Galloway. He retired from the United States Navy and shortly thereafter married his wife of 40 years, Sherrie Hodges Galloway. David was affectionately known as the “Mayor” of the Whispering Pines subdivision. He took that title seriously and enjoyed patrolling the neighborhood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Ray, Carlyle “Little Joe” and Victor Galloway and three sisters; Lucille Chapman, Victoria Childree and Glenda Chapman. He is survived by his loving wife Sherrie and daughter Carol Galloway, one brother Edward Galloway, three sisters Frances Ashe, Luella Owen and Annette Bradley. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Galloway will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, Feb. 18, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Crummey, Associate Pastor of Christian Fellowship Temple, officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida.
