Doney Harris

Mr. Doney Harris, age 61, of Raiford, Florida passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. Mr. Harris was born in Lake Butler, Florida and lived in Raiford all of his life. He was a graduate of Union County High School, class of 1980. He enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, and farming. He imparted wisdom to his kids and grandkids, whether it was operating equipment, planting a garden, or turning wrenches and was patient with them, even when they were too stubborn to listen. Mr. Harris worked for Pipeline Contractors as an equipment operator, where he was affectionately known as "Caveman". He worked there for many years and was looking forward to his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents: Woodrow and Evelyn Harris, 2 brothers: Sammy Harris and Henry Harris. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Harris, 4 sons: Doney (Sarah) Harris, Jr of Raiford, Florida; Christopher Matthew (Terri) Harris of Raiford, Florida; Joshua Adam (Kimberly) Harris of Raiford, Florida; and Robert Dwayne (Emily) Small of Lake Butler, Florida, 3 brothers: Jimmy (Betty) Harris of Gainesville, Florida; Johnny (Robin) Harris of Raiford, Florida; and Ronnie Harris of Raiford, Florida, sister: Betty Cochran of Raiford, Florida. Sixteen grandchildren, Chloie, Canaan, Rylee, Nathan, Caiden, Alaynah, Braelynn, Stephanie, Steven, Joshua, Jaxson, Joshie, Colton, Weston, CJ, and Jace and 2 great- grandchildren, Cami and Tommy, numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Harris will be held Thursday, March 7, at 3:00 P.M. at Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor David Crawford and Pastor Michael Green. Visitation and gathering with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will follow the funeral services in South Prong Cemetery.
